Ashley and Jason met online, like a lot of couples are doing these days. However, we didn't meet on a "dating" website. We shared a mutual friend on Twitter, and began following and chatting with each other. Sports, nonsense, hashtags, anything and everything (you express yourself in 140 characters or less, you always have SOMETHING to say).. Well, that small talk turned to a bit more when we started chatting through Yahoo. We even got brave enough to do the whole video chat thing. (We would watch Reds games together, so Ashley could learn a bit more about baseball). Things got even more "serious" when we started talking on the phone. It might sound cheesy to say it was an "instant connection", but it was. There was definitely something special there. The biggest step was yet to happen though. The day after Thanksgiving last year (2010), Jason made the trip to Florida to meet Ashley for the first time. (Did I forget to mention that Jason lived in Ohio?) Talk about being nervous! When Jason got to Orlando, he called Ashley to find out where she was. She told him that she was by the Starbucks (and completely nervous now because he was SO close).. Well, Jason made it to the Starbucks INSIDE the terminal, while Ashley was by the Starbucks near the security gate. After a few minutes of waiting for Jason to find Ashley, they finally met. A huge hug was exchanged, and Jason told her that she was even more gorgeous in person. Ashley pulls out a pack of Icebreakers, and handed them to him to "break the ice". History hasn't been made yet at this point. The plan was to go to an Orlando Magic basketball game that night, but there was time to kill. So, we went to Target (where we held hands for the first time.... yep. go ahead and awwwwwww away) and then we slowly made our way downtown to eat and go to the game. It wasn't until that night, back at Ashley's apartment, right before bed, that it happened. Jason said something like "I can't believe I am so nervous to kiss you" or something along those lines. And then he kissed her. Fireworks and everything. It was perfect. And NOW the rest is history. Jason moved to Florida in March and we both live happily with our two rotten shelties, Cody and Chase, and our sweet bunnies, Buckeye and Sully. Our wedding will be on November 11, 2012 in Columbus, Ohio.
